Sondra Huxtable!! had the biggest crush on her. Was so pretty had a great voice. This was in 93 so right after the Cosby show ended.
That last line.....GARAK, you should really know better....
We're on Q's side for once. We saw him cause Picard to eat hraka and we applaud him.
0:37 When I wake up for my cup of coffee 1:13 When I realize I'm out of coffee powder
I just love the noises on the bridge
I still nearly piss myself laughing at this even though this will be 30 years old soon.
Picard should have just blasted them to smithereens and gone to the holodeck to play.
What I find a bit funny about this scene is at the start of the episode Sisko says they don't have an EMH because their technology is Cardassian and incompatible with Federation technology. Yet Zimmerman is able to get an EMH into Sickbay with no problems. Plus I thought it would have made sense they don't have an EMH because Bashir has such a large medical staff.
Somebody actually wrote "Vulcan Love Slave" on AO3
Space the final frontier, these are the 11-pm to 7-am voyages of the Enterprise's Night Crew and it's continuing mission is to PARTAYYYY!!
Lol James Worthy standing next to Michael Dorn and being just a fucking tower
As someone who has been challenged in life, (differently to some similarly to others) it would be an amazing (and terrifying) opportunity to have a creature like Q take interest in me as he does with Picard. Imagine how far you could push yourself when a creature like Q who can sense your limits better than you can, deliberately engineers scenarios where you must push past those limits, even if only slightly.
And then right after this scene, that woman they beam up is roasted alive by a sabotaged transporter. Star Trek: Giving you mood whiplash since the 1960s.
To give her credit, and the episode’s writers, the teacher never tries to attribute these properties to some supernatural beings. The properties of the matter are deduced from logic - flawed but not trying to appeal to a supernatural creator. What she is doing is proto-science, exactly what the Greeks were doing a few thousands years ago.
What makes this even more hilarious is that, barely two episodes later, we find out that Odo's just as much of a troll as Dax is, in that he deliberately located his quarters one deck above Quark's so that he can keep Quark awake at night by practicing his shapeshifting.
I think the teacher is a creationist.
I find this episode and Super Troopers II (the movie) to be the two most hilarious things I've ever seen on the screen; just preciously funny. Two thumbs up to Lwaxana Troi.
If not the best scene from Worf in anything 😅❤😅😂❤😂🎉🎉 Mellooooooooyttttttttttttaaaaaaaahaaa!!!!!!
Those dang space lawyers...
3:16 This scene really gets you right here ❤. Yeah, I know. That was in bad taste. It's a lot better when Q says it. 😁😁😁😁
A life-long DS9 fan, and I can't believe I never noticed that Martok was pointing to his scarred-over eye socket (in a way his subordinates couldn't see) when he said "don't tempt fate" What a wise guy, ha.
this is a dynamtic that doesn't get talked about enough. miles taking nog under his wing and guiding him to being a good starfleet officer. and nog just soaking in everything the chief has to teach him.
2:13 The look on Garak's face. That's a man happy to latch on to some subtext.
I can kinda relate with Rom. My whole job is scooping horse dookee for 6 hours straight. So some it may not seem that high standing of a job but I’m satisfied with it and am praised for it by my bosses and coworkers.
This is a dialogue. What is being published right now is nonsense written by toddlers.
Ots weird but its mot wrong
Ever notice that Klingons (and ONLY Klingons) can turn off the Universal Translator at will? They don't even have to do anything, it's like the UT reads the Klingons' minds and knows when not to translate it.
The understanding between two fathers as well as the understanding of a baby who knows not only does he have his father with but a true Alpha male in Worf instinct tells this baby you are truly safe no one in the room will allow any danger to befall you.
This is probably the most iconic scene of the entire DS9.
0:06: Ooh, You in trouble. 😏
Speaking as a dreary man in a tedious job...it's not so bad.
Martok was rewarding courage and honesty, but also teaching his fellows that you cannot merely rely on your status as a klingon warrior to avoid conflict. Because even in the seemingly small and weak there is courage and bravery. And even though he would have won that battle handily, it is best not to tempt fate. That statement wasnt just for Nog.
0:24 Klingon in the background doing a passable impression of Paulie Walnuts.
This is legit one of the best episodes of the franchise, and an excellent use of two great actors' talents
Never pegged Miles as a Protestant
Arguably the best part of Picard inspecting the plaque for dust is the fact that the Enterprise probably doesn’t even have any dust on it.
0:19 I know the series never…excelled at fight choreography, but can we take a minute to respect how beautiful that slam was?
He is mansplaining. Her truth is as good as his. Maybe even better.
You can pinpoint the exact moment picard knew he had them by the balls! :D
What most people overlook in this episode while they're ooing and aahing over it was that Picard was lucky. It's not a black and white of "Take a chance" and "don't take a chance." Taking pointless, foolish chances is being a fool, not courageous. If Picard had been stabbed through the heart and died there in that room after puffing out his chest and getting in a fight, we'd all be saying "Pfft. What a freakin' moron. He should have known better" or things like "Well play stupid games, win stupid prizes" like we do for so many other people who take adventurous chances and die doing it. Sometimes the risk takers pay a high price for the risks they take because the risks were pointless. You can be adventurous and be willing to take a risk without being a fool, just as you can be careful and cautious without being an abject coward who never accomplished anything in your life and leading a dreary, boring existence.
The giveaway right there is that he is seeking Worf's approval, not Bashir's.
I like how Martok indicates his lost eye when talking about tempting fate, showing that he's speaking from experience.
“I will take him by the throat and rip out his esophagus…!” 😂😂😂
It's kind of adorable that every time Quark tastes something he likes, he says 'mmm' to himself
A Data/Bashir spin off would've been 🔥
Bashir is easily the best doc.
Morn is about Worfs build he could have taken him if he was prepared
Picard was always such a miserable old bastard as well as Worf
It's easy for a fictional show to pontificate to people in real life about taking risks. It certainly bears no consequence if those risks don't pay off.
Let’s put death to the test and see what happens. Is life overrated? Is death overrated? What if we are puppets in the hands of a cosmic tyrant and he fears that he would waste his puppets? Fuck you. 😂
